HUB Montreal 2023: an edition that testifies to the creative power of the Montreal ecosystem

More than 70 activities offered to the 750 participants at OASIS Immersion, and beyond its walls, in the Palais des congrès and various emblematic places of digital Montreal.

Montreal, November 2, 2023 – A record year, surpassing all expectations, for this 7th edition of HUB Montreal, presented by Panasonic and in partnership with the National Bank, which took place on October 16, 17 and 18 at OASIS Immersion, and beyond its walls, in the Palais des Congrès and across the metropolis. An edition marked by collaboration, exchanges and highlighting the know-how of the Montreal ecosystem.

Nearly 750 participants, including around a hundred local studios and 160 international guests, gathered to exchange ideas and participate in more than 70 professional activities. It is under the sign of collaboration and highlighting the know-how of the ecosystem that the market-event offered a completely new programming format: international conferences hosted by renowned personalities from the industry, diversified and innovative showcases which were able to expose all the technological know-how of the studios, “focus markets”, workshops and round tables which encouraged discussions and exchanges of knowledge and finally the experimentation with twelve projects presented in the Demo Space powered by Loto-Québec.

International guests were also able to discover digital Montreal thanks to more than thirty key players in Montreal’s digital creativity such as the PHI Center, the Quartier des spectacles international, Arsenal Contemporain, the 7 Fingers and the Montreal Science Centre, to just name a few.

“This 7th edition was a true testimony to the creative power of our ecosystem,” declared Rachel Parent, Director of Programming at HUB Montreal. “The collaboration of the ecosystem in the official programming of the event made it possible to further promote exchanges between participants in order to explore new trends, understand the different opportunities for collaboration and think collectively about the desired future for our ecosystem . What a great success! Of course, all of these achievements were possible thanks to the teamwork at HUB but also thanks to the support of our partners,” added Rachel Parent.

For the opening of this 7th edition, HUB Montréal had the chance to welcome the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Pierre Fitzgibbon, as well as the Minister of Culture and of Communications, Mathieu Lacombe. Both recalled the importance of the creative industry in Quebec in terms of economic development and reaffirmed their support with several important announcements for the consolidation of the ecosystem.

Finally, after 3 days of sharing and discovery, this 7th edition ended with an exceptional closing evening at Cirque Eloize, where guests were able to admire magnificent and grandiose performances performed by Cirque’ artists. It was also an opportunity to highlight the significant contribution of personalities and projects to the industry thanks to the HUB Montreal Awards which were presented.
