Announcing HUB Montreal 2021 Award Recipients!

A delegation of local and international buyers and programmers were able to appreciate the know-how and originality in creative projects of over twenty Québec companies. These delegates were asked to vote for their favorites to help determine the winners of the HUB 2021 Awards. Votes were submitted to the HUB Advisory Committee, who determined a winner for each award in consultation with each associated sponsor.

We are pleased to announce the winners in the following 4 categories:


Presented by LE BEAM

Studio Eloize Expo’s project, Under the Ice” with Mario Cyr won the 5-day creative residency at Studio Le Sanctuaire located in St-Adrien in the Eastern Townships with access to on-site equipment as well as accommodations for three people at the Auberge Incroyable for a total value of $7,000.
An immersive experience, the exhibition “Under the Ice” offers visitors of all ages a memorable journey to an almost inaccessible and sometimes austere place, the Canadian Arctic.

Loto-Québec is proud to partner with HUB Montreal and award a grant to the project that demonstrates exceptional innovation in entertainment and new media. The project had to demonstrate a new use of technology at the intersection of different artistic sectors.
For innovative solutions that enable new collaborations between technology, digital design and the creative industry, the “Chomsky vs Chomsky” project from the Moov Ai studio was awarded a $5000 grant.

IQI is pleased to partner with HUB Montreal to present the Grand Prize for International Exposure to the project “INFINITE” created by Félix & Paul Studios and Centre PHI, in association with TIME Studios.
The jury underlined the extraordinary commercial potential of the project and its ability to promote Quebec’s expertise in immersive experiences and XR internationally.
Two representatives of the project will have the chance to go to SXSW 2022 in Austin, Texas next March with accommodation and flights included for a total value of $6,500.

Special Prize: HUB Montréal with Design Pavillion

Presented by Design Pavilion in collaboration with Fifth Avenue Association

The award goes to Iregular, a company whose most recent project, “Our Common Home,” demonstrated a high level of design quality while developing expertise and skill in experiential design.
The prize includes access for one representative travel to NCYxDESIGN 2021 in November with airfare and a guided tour of New York’s cultural venues with Design Pavilion President, Ilene Shaw. Two nights’ accommodation will be provided by the Fifth Avenue Association on the famous avenue.
