AN INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CYCLE

Through key international industry events, HUB Montreal is dedicated to fulfilling its mission: to significantly contribute to the business development of Quebec's creative companies, strengthen Montreal's reputation as a city of creativity, and foster collaboration among leading figures in the global cultural and creative industries.

HUB's key missions on the road include engaging new buyers, operating the international activities of government partners, and collaborating on the programming of related events.

This annual international cycle ends with the HUB Montreal event, a focal point for creative exchanges and innovative collaborations.

FROM NOVEMBER 26 TO 28, 2025

HUB Montreal, in collaboration with L’Effet Québec (an initiative of Xn Québec), the Québec Government Office in Paris, and Investissement Québec International, is showcasing Québec’s creative talent in Paris!

This professional mission brings together studio producers, creators, distributors, and representatives of cultural venues dedicated to digital creativity, including:

The Québec delegation has participated in We Are French Touch on November 26, with an intervention by Rachel Parent on the Plein Cadre stage. The delegation continued the next days with professional meetings and activities to strengthen Québec–France connections and develop new creative collaborations.

This initiative is made possible thanks to funding from SODEC, the Ministry of Culture and Communications, Investissement Québec International, and the Québec Government Office in Paris.

HUB Montreal continues its international outreach in Milan by taking part in the 6th edition of The New Atlas of Digital Art, organized by MEET. This year’s theme, “Immersive Frontiers,” explores new forms of immersive creation, cultural mediation, and emerging economic models.

Rachel Parent, Executive Director of HUB Montreal, spoke during the “Immersive Economy” session, alongside representatives from SAT, MUTEK Montreal, as well as Diversion (FR), Barbican Centre (UK), Balich Wonder Studio (IT), and Flow Production (IT).

FROM JUNE 11 TO 18, 2025

Rachel Parent, Executive Director of HUB Montreal, represented HUB Montreal at VRHAM!, Digital and Immersive Art Biennale. The digital art delegation brought together experts from around the world to explore the new frontiers of art and technology.

For one week, VRHAM! transforms Hamburg’s creative Oberhafen district into a vibrant international laboratory for digital art.

On the program: an immersive exhibition featuring virtual reality, holograms, interactive installations and kinetic sculptures, professional meetups, and a rich dialogue among artists, institutions, and key cultural actors.

FROM JUNE 2 TO 6, 2025

HUB Montreal participated in the “Los Angeles Sporting Events Roadshow – Entertainment & Activation” commercial mission organized by the Trade Commissioner Service at the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, in collaboration with HUB Montréal and the Québec Delegation in Los Angeles.

As L.A. prepares for the 2028 Olympic Games, the city becomes a global lab for reimagining the future of the sports experience through creativity.

Goals: → Connect Canadian creative tech companies with key players in sports, entertainment, and media.
→ Showcase Canadian know-how in immersive storytelling, creative tech, live events, and brand experiences.

→ Explore business opportunities in AR/VR, event production, and content creation.
→ Support international growth in the U.S. market.

This mission is part of the Los Angeles Global Sporting Events Roadshow, which focuses on three pillars: Transportation Tech, Venue Tech, and Entertainment & Activation.

HUB Montreal has proudly represented Canadian innovation, immersive storytelling, and brand activation expertise with: Float4, Bakuza, Luz Studio, Cirque du Soleil, Lighthouse Immersive Studios, Tangible Interaction Design, Secret Location, Hololabs Studio, Normal Studio, and Moment Factory.

As part of the GCDN conference in Los Angeles, HUB Montréal took part in an exclusive workshop on May 19 and 20, co-hosted by Julie Dalbec (HUB Montréal) and Jacquelyn West (Quartier des Spectacles), on the theme: "What's hot and what’s not? Digital Art & Placemaking for Cultural Districts".

The exchange was guided by the perspectives of leading industry players such as Moment Factory, Superblue, Daily tous les jours, HKS Futures and Jason Bruges Studio.

FROM MAY 13 TO 19, 2025

As a community partner of the Marché du Film, HUB Montreal took part in the Marché Immersif, a key event for opening up new collaboration and distribution opportunities in the immersive works sector.

Aboard the Art Explora, the world's largest catamaran, the Curators Network brought together immersive creators and cultural decision-makers for 7 days of pitches, workshops and exclusive meetings.

FROM MAY 8 TO 10, 2025

OFFF Barcelona took place from May 8 to 10, 2025 at Barcelona's Design Museum, and this year once again, Quebec was in the spotlight, representing our talents, ideas and culture at the heart of Spain's biggest design and digital culture festival.

After welcoming OFFF to Montreal, HUB Montreal continues to build bridges between the creative ecosystems here and abroad; two vibrant scenes, one vision of creativity.

Julie Dalbec, Head of Programming at HUB Montreal, took to the stage alongside Principal Studio, Quartier des spectacles international and Dpt. for the conference “The Creative Revolution made in Quebec.”

APRIL 9 TO 13, 2025

HUB Montreal flew to Paris to take part in the 8th edition of the NewImages Festival, held from April 9 to 13 at the Forum des images. With three days of professional programming, an XR (and out-of-competition) competition, and two international markets - the XR Development Market and the XR Distribution Market - the festival has established itself as a must-attend event dedicated to immersive creation and virtual worlds.

HUB Montreal also took part in a series of professional meetings, as part of a program presented by PXN (the Association of French Producers of Digital Experiences), in collaboration with French Immersive Studios, NewImages Festival and with the support of Film France-CNC. A unique opportunity to delve into the heart of Europe's largest XR network and discover the richness of the French immersive ecosystem.

FROM MARCH 7 TO 15, 2025

A mission organized in collaboration with the Government of Quebec, the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), Investissement Québec international, the Ministry of Culture and Communications and the Quebec Delegation in Houston as well as Xn Québec and HUB Montréal.

HUB Montreal has been mandated by the Government of Quebec to program panels and networking activities highlighting Quebec's creative talent and promoting international business development.

→ Research of industry trends, invitation and support of panelists, as well as coordination and logistics of panels.

→ Organization of Quebec activities at Canada House in collaboration with Xn Quebec, including management of events on March 8 and 9.

Business development and networking.

→ Research and coordination of collaborations with international delegations (France, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, USA, Brazil, Germany) and preparation of SODEC companies for Investissement Québec International's VIP networking brunch.

→ Identify, invite and connect potential buyers for mission activities, including brunch and Quebec activities at Canada House.

Pre-mission for SXSW 2025

→ Organization of the pre-mission, in collaboration with Xn Québec.

→ Presentation of the “international” component - international delegations, potential buyers and opportunities.

As part of the Quebec Creative Wonderland mission, the HUB Montreal team has presented at the 38th edition of SXSW 2024.

→ Research, planning and coordination: industry trends, international partners and guests, development of editorial line and schedule.

As part of a collaboration between HUB Montreal and Immersive Tech Week, HUB Montreal has scheduled a panel at the event in Rotterdam to highlight the winner of the Immersive HUB 2024 Prize.

Hosted by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), with the support of AEA Consulting, the GCDN took advantage of its 10th annual convention to explore how cultural districts can become dynamic hubs of social and cultural activity at the heart of public life.

HUB Montreal took part to develop new business links and strengthen its presence within international cultural networks.

The Immersive Market is the latest B2B initiative of the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes, aimed at opening up collaboration and distribution opportunities for players in the immersive industry.

HUB Montreal's presence at this event is part of its mission to promote the international visibility of Quebec talent and stimulate business development in foreign markets.

FROM APRIL 10 TO 12, 2024

As part of the Quebec showcase L'EFFET QUÉBEC BARCELONE, organized by MUTEK and XN Quebec, HUB Montreal was part of the Quebec cohort during the 15th anniversary of the MUTEK.ES festival (April 9-13, 2024).

HUB Montreal had the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including studio visits, networking cocktails reserved for industry professionals, B2B sessions, matchmaking events and studio and artist presentations.

FROM NOVEMBER 28 TO DECEMBER 1, 2023

During the Immersive Tech Week Innovation Festival, HUB Montreal participated in Rotterdam as a partner of Immersive Tech Week, while also supporting the major winners of the 7th edition of the HUB Immersive Award: Felix & Paul and Phi Studios.

The aim of this presence was to strengthen international ties, discover cutting-edge innovations in the immersive field, and showcase Quebec's dynamism and talent on the world stage.

As part of IAAPA 2023, HUB Montreal was invited, alongside Investissement Quebec International, to hold a stand, “The Creative HUB Montreal Lemonade Stand” in order to show the expertise of Quebec creative businesses and cause promotion business opportunities.

At ECSITE, an international conference bringing together science museums from more than 50 countries, the HUB Montreal team was able to canvass new players in the museum world, discover the sector major trends and promote the 7th edition of HUB Montreal and the Quebec digital ecosystem.

FROM APRIL 11 TO 14, 2023

HUB Montreal flew to New York, accompanied by 9 Quebec companies for a two-part commercial mission: agencies and public spaces.

This mission gave creative companies the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with decision makers from major New York agencies such as Ogilvy, SUPERBIEN and HUSH among others, as well as organizations and associations in charge of revitalizing major public spaces: Brooklyn Downtown Alliance, Domino Park, Seaport, etc.

On the occasion of a mission planned by CENTRO and the Embassy of Canada, the HUB Montreal team, accompanied by 6 Canadian companies, went to Mexico City with the aim of developing business opportunities with Mexico.

HUB Montreal was commissioned by Investissement Québec International to coordinate the production and programming of the Québec Days on March 13 and 14, 2023 at the Swan Dive.

Through this commercial mission, HUB Montreal achieved two of its main objectives:

→ highlight Quebec’s creative companies through rich programming that reflects industry trends

→ promote the business development of the creative industry during networking activities (B2B, 5 to 7, etc.).

FROM FEBRUARY 18 TO 22, 2023

Participating companies took part in visits to museums and heritage sites, including the Hangar Y, a mythical aeronautical site now rehabilitated as a bridge between art, science and nature; Lafayette Anticipations, a key venue for contemporary creation; and the Château de Villers-Cotterêts, a heritage site housing the Cité internationale de la langue française.

These visits provided plenty of networking opportunities with the management teams of the venues visited.

This Parisian trip enabled the participating Quebec companies to connect with major local players, particularly in view of upcoming major events: the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Francophonie Summit!

As part of the fruitful Montreal-Brussels Round Trip partnership, Quebec companies took part in The Factory event organized by XR4heritage, XRValley (Stereopsia) and the Délégation générale du Québec à Bruxelles.

At Digital Signage Experience, a comprehensive international event dedicated to digital signage solutions, HUB Montreal was able to reach out to new players in the world of entertainment production technology and experiential events.

As part of IAAPA 2022, HUB Montreal was able to develop business opportunities with exhibitors, vendors and speakers.

IAAPA exhibitions bring together professionals from the world's most respected theme parks, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, museums, science centers and attractions to see innovation in action.

FROM MAY 19 TO 22, 2022

Founded in 1996 in New York City, the American Alliance Museum Annual Congress brings together museums of all types and sizes - from art and history museums to zoos and botanical gardens - to share ideas and establish new collaborations.

Through numerous B2B meetings, HUB Montreal developed a network of buyers from the museum industry, who were then invited to the 2022 edition so that Quebec creative companies could develop their business network in the industry.

FROM JUNE 10 TO 16, 2022

As part of the ISEA 2022 festival, HUB Montreal and the City of Montreal toured the city of Barcelona to promote Quebec creative companies.
This trade mission enabled HUB Montreal to make new contacts with international buyers and collaborators, and to invite them to its 6th edition in Montréal.

Through face-to-face and virtual networking activities, Catalan and Quebec companies were able to develop business relationships.
